To express gratitude for the support and trust of our customers over the years and to share with them the latest best practices in cybersecurity, Tradelink hosted the "Cybersecurity 360" luncheon seminar at The Langham Hong Kong on 6 Dec 2024. The event was a huge success, attracted over 160 participants including industry experts, association delegates and Tradelink customers and partners.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Tommy Yuen, S.B.S., Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tradelink, highlighted that Tradelink has extended its business from its core business Government Electronic Trading Services to other business areas including Supply Chain, Identity Management and PayTech Solutions. Through our wholly-owned subsidiary, Digi-Sign Certification Services Limited, the only commercial Recognized Certification Authority in Hong Kong under the Electronic Transactions Ordinance, we have issued digital certificates for identity verification. We work closely with regulators and have introduced technologies such as electronic Know-Your-Customer (eKYC) and biometric authentication in Hong Kong, gaining solid experience in providing cybersecurity solutions for individuals and businesses of all sizes.
As the keynote speaker of the seminar, Mr. Andrew Cheng, Executive Director and Chief Operations Officer of Tradelink, delivered a lively and engaging presentation with live demonstrations of various common types of cyberattacks seen at both individual and corporate levels, including OTP theft, fake Wi-Fi, deep fake face swap, USB malware and more. He also shared his insights and advice on how to prevent against these threats and introduce Tradelink’s comprehensive suite of cybersecurity solutions such as deep fake detection, dark web analysis, digital identity and signing solutions, etc.
Andrew concluded, "Hackers are everywhere, and the technologies they use constantly evolve. While it may be impossible to stop them, it is possible to prevent them. What we can do is to enhance our cybersecurity awareness, mitigate risks at the source, and minimise opportunities for hackers to exploit vulnerabilities. And you do not need to invest a lot, just some simple health check and setups that can easily be done by ordinary citizens and SMEs."
We are delighted that the seminar was well received by the audience as questions and comments were enthusiastically raised and discussed. We look forward to organising similar seminars on topics of interest to our customers and helping them maximise digital efficiency.
